First range time with Henry 22
First chance today to get to the indoor range with my new-to-me Henry 22. Picked it up at a local pawn shop last week. According to Henry the born-on date was January 2015.
These targets shot at 25 yards, one with 20 rounds the other with 10, both CCI Mini-mag 40gr target loads.
I wear glasses with progressive bi-focal lenses and have a very hard time getting focus on the sights. Also hard to get a good sight picture with black sights and the black of the targets.
Going to install the HiViz front sight so I hope that will help.

Re: First range time with Henry 22
That Henry H001 and nicely-shot targets are a great first range report. CCIs deliver fine results, too. Good shooting!
And Mr. Moose is showing off the Henry with flair there.

P.S. Understood about the glasses. Do battle with my trifocals....

Re: First range time with Henry 22
If you are referring to my use impressions of the Henry.....absolutely a blast!! I haven't picked up a long gun since my last M14 quals in the Navy almost 30 years ago and I would still be at the range if I hadn't run out of ammo! Looking forward to getting out and picking off pop cans and water bottles if I can find a place to go in the woods nearby. Also recently picked up a Ruger 10/22 and added a 3-9x32 scope and have a lot of fun with it as well....but there is something about working the lever action on the Henry that is really cool.

Re: First range time with Henry 22
Have a look at Skinner’s peep sights for the Henry .22s. Andy makes multiple styles and they really help tired eyes. The factory buckhorns are hard for most of us guys to shoot well. Henry offers Skinner’s on their hunting specific .22s, so you know they are a good option. With a Hi-Viz front you should be set!MTC(SS)USNret wrote: ↑Fri Jun 21, 2019 4:32 pmI wear glasses with progressive bi-focal lenses and have a very hard time getting focus on the sights.
