Russian Top Break and Reloads

It's most unusual for me to include some reload info with a Range Report. But this one is thanks to ESquared.

In .45 Colt caliber, we both shoot revolvers, plus he also shoots his Henry Brass Carbine. Yesterday we got together at a MO outdoor range in Lake City. We've planned that sometime this summer I'll get over to his place to see a "reloading demo." But as he reloaded this week, he built some low MV recipes for my Russian (Thanks!). Uberti recommends a max MV (fps) of 875 for my revolver. I tried/compared ESquared's reloads, and here are two target results.

I shot 15 rounds at each 6" splash target, distance of 7 yards, standing, off hand/single hand.

Yeah, much fun! :) First time I've ever done this. It gave me a flavor of what can be done through reloading. I liked the Clays particularly. Not only did I learn some stuff about ammo/reloading, it was just a great time shooting the accurate, easy-to-shoot Russian. As usual, after cleaning my gun, I'm ready to get out there and get it dirty again!

Everybody have a good weekend.

Nicely done, PT, nicely done! Keep up the great work. Love seeing all this interest in the 45 Colt. If there's one cartridge that tempts me to get back into reloading, this is it.

Fun times, huh, PT? You were shootin' the eyes out of things, and it was interesting just hearing the difference in those lightweight cowboy loads vs. the heftier Unique loads I was using.

Great looking targets! Gotta get out there again soon!

Good shooting PT7. I think you would like reloading 45C. It's very straight forward and you can use the brass over and over. You would like the 200gr lead in your pistol.

Nice shooting. I'm glad you two got together. I like that revolver.
