Happy Birthday NCG! I don't own one of those CZ trainers, but, have shot one set-up like yours. VERY accurate rifle to say the least. Atta girl!

How bad does the front hood appear in the scope? I've wanted one for a while but held off because I want to scope it but don't want the front hood in the middle of the scope.

You'll only see the faint outline of the hood at the lowest power. It disappears at 4x and above. Even then, it's barely visible in the very bottom of the field of view when it is visible, so not at all distracting. Lastly, you can always remove the hood if you want.

Re: New CZ 457 Training rifle
I take the factory hoods off and replace them with a Remington 700 round hood or a wide scan Marlin hood. I keep the factory hoods but not on my rifle. I can't stand to look at the factory hoods. I don't see the Rem.700 hood or the Marlin in the scopes unless I go 2X or lower and even then it is nothing like the huge CZ hood. The round Rem. hood makes the CZ look more like a Sako FS.
Remington along with the CZ factory hood.
Marlin wide scan. Lower profile by quite a bit.

Thanks for the tips. I've been going back and forth between one of these and the varmint model. I think I made up my mind!
