Today I took my "new" revolver to the range and shot a some lead, well its not a new revolver its made 1866 so its 153years old.
Ready for some action:
A little dirty:
Some results on paper, shot on 25meters not used to this revolver I have to aim low. 20grains of blackpowder and .457 roundballs. Decent group for the first rangetrip imo 10shots (2drums) a cowboy only load 5.
Spent an hour at the range with my revolver and then a couple more trapshooting with my sister. Then rest of the eventing I spent cleaning my revolver
Spring has sprung. Get out and shoot your Henry

I don't know much about old firearms. You weren't concerned about the internals failing or anything? Has it been rebuilt?

No this revolver has been a shooter past 3-4years atleast, I bought from a friend who used it now and then, and he bought it from a collector/gunsmith that only works with civilwar weapons. Not sure if anything been replaced during the years of the internals but its been reblued in the past and been taking cared of.RanchRoper wrote: ↑Sun May 12, 2019 3:51 pmI don't know much about old firearms. What a thrill just to shoot something that old, let alone own it. Very few shooters can claim, either. Thanks for sharing.
