Slinging lead with the Ranch Hand .45

Last month I added a single point sling to my modified Rossi Ranch Hand and tried it out on my 80 yd. gong.
Sling made a great improvement on shooting those big slow .45's !

I had cut the barrel back to 9 inch and added a brass post sight to the barrel band.

Excellent shooting! Where are you from, fortyshooter? You have an Eastern North Carolina accent.

Definitely interested in seeing the sling and how you use it.

Great shooting, great gong clangs! Nothing more fun than lead on steel, Fortyshooter.
Neat to hear the .45 Colt bullets sounding off at those longer distances....cool 8-) caliber.

Thanks guys! I'll try and get a picture of the sling setup. It is just a basic sling that both ends hook onto saddle ring on side of receiver.
With sling over shoulder you push the gun out against the sling tension while pulling back slightly on butt stock.
Gives a nice steady hold.

Love seeing folks using a sling for shooting, again. Used to be much more common when I was learning to shoot, way back when. Please post some pics when you can.

I will be getting down to the range this week for some driveway repair and will put a short video up of using the sling.
It's a point of mine to include some shooting along with any work that needs to be done.
