30-30 CCH As Ready As She's Gonna Get

Post by ESquared » Thu Nov 01, 2018 3:49 pm

Heading for deer camp a week from tomorrow, so gotta quit fretting and fussing with the 30-30 CCH. Back to the range today for one final tune-up with the Winchester Silvertip 150 grain. It patterns completely differently from my other factory stuff - landing much lower. So, I tweaked the scope up several clicks (was working at 50 yds) and worked away at more "hunting type conditions."

Meaning no bag rests, but from a seated position (which I will be in the stand). So, what's that: Seated, off-hand? I dunno.

Anyway, here it is. Gotta quit all this prep and just go hunting.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

I'd say you're ready, too. Yeah, "seated, offhand" or "seated, no rest" or "half offhand", whatever. Doesn't make any difference when you can shoot like that. Nicely, done. Have a good hunt.

Good shooting! That will certainly work...did you go with the 150g over the traditional 170g because of accuracy?
