This Remington.357 Magnum S/A (Uberti replica) is sure easy to shoot, and most fun to shoot. Fixed sights are spot on; the newbie shooter is the one that is off, and will be doing more practice shooting down-the-road. ;)

Connected with ESquared this morning at an indoor KC range; he's a member there and invited me as his guest. It was a good time sharing a shooting booth on the 25-yard range.

I brought my new 1890 revolver; he had is DW 9mm 1911 and Henry SGC. I didn't shoot his SGC since I have one of my own, but we did swap handguns to try them out. BTW, not only did he shoot his 3 Henry rifles excellently last week, he really handles and shoots his handguns very well, too.

For my first time out with the .357 Magnum, I brought MagTech 158gr LFN, Fiocchi 142gr FMJTC, and CCI #4 shot ammos. As usual, I shot off hand, as did ESquared. I will note the yardages with the target photos.

Just for fun. After the Forum thread about the CCI Big Four Shotshells, I bought some to try out. Yes, these are effective for about the 4-8 yard distances as seen in the Plinkster22 video I posted in that thread. I only sent two shotsheels into this target at 3 yards and 4 yards. For sure, this would be effective protection against snakes. There was almost no recoil when I shot it with the revolver, and I liked the pattern it displayed.

Mixed targets. Each target was shot at 8 yards. This is who owns/shot which target:
~~~A) ESquared shooting his 1911.
~~~B) PT7 shooting the 1911.
~~~C and E) PT7 shooting the .357 revolver.
~~~D) ESquared shooting the .357 revolver. Must admit that ESquared shot my new revolver better than I did, as seen with the touching POIs here! :oops:

PT7 shooting the .357 revolver at 15 yards. Started out pretty wide, but got a fairly good hold on the sights and started bringing those POIs in. Like I said, thoroughly enjoyed shooting this six-gun, and know that the shooter will only get better each time out!

Thanks for the kind words, PT, but I chalk my shooting of your revolver up to beginner's luck, as I'm a self-admitted poor shooter of revolvers. That said, the trigger on the six-shooter is FANTASTIC and the sights were very easy to figure out. All in all, a great gun and very nice to look at, too. The shot shells make it a snake gun, for sure!

My DW group was nothing to shout about, but I'm attributing that to being in full-on "rifle mode" for the past 90 days or so, trying to find a cure for my Henryitis. It's a fun 1911 to shoot (9mm), but the sight picture is not what I'm used to. Will eventually get around to addressing that, but no hurry.

And, the SGC is just so much fun to shoot, peep sight, Lyman globe, 25 yds. I'll take a pic of that target (I think I still have it) and post it tomorrow.

Great time, good fun, something new for both of us, and the maiden voyage of your new 6-shooter! What more could anyone want?
