Range Report: CZ American .22LR
I took two CZ's to the range today but only shot one. This is my 452-2E American. The 452-2E American is about two inches longer than the 452 American. When I added the Mannlicher stock it didn't reach the muzzle because it wasn't made for this special rifle. I'm not sure of the model of the scope. Its marked 4X and was marketed by Higgins. Its kind of a breed between the B4 and J4. It is all metal and my guess is its late 50's. More on the scope later.
Here is my crude benchrest. The bags are filled with sand and make the best base. When I shoot I snug the trigger guard up to the sandbags so its nesting right at the takedown screw.
This is the best target of the day and was the very first target. I couldn't remember if the rifle was sighted in so I shot this at 25 yards. I made an adjustment from the left target to the right. After shooting this I moved the target out to 50 yards. I was averaging half to three-quarter inch groups at 50 yards but this .149" spread would have been .298" at 50 yards.
The scope has the smaller 3/4" tube which is even thinner than the 7/8" tube that came out just a few years later. The eye relief is narrow and the small tube size makes the image vignette if you aren't viewing dead center. I wish the rifle had a leather buttstock so I could find the same spot quickly. Its takes several minutes to eye it as I have to change my cheek weld several times just to get everything right.

Beautiful wood on both rifles! And the Mannlicher stock has a really unique look to it.
The right target is especially excellent shooting! Good job, Sir Henry. It would be neat to see a target like that through my own sight.
[P.S. Wonder how it will be shooting my BBB with the V4.5 Weaver? I've got to get that sighted in soon...]

Thank you for that great report. I like those Mannlicher stocks. I don't have one on any of mine, but I like them.
I like that one hole group.
