Hi all was at the Range sunday and have a new Henry 45/70 and was been shooting the Hornady 325 gr stx on zeroing the scope in for the Elk hunt at the end of next week and the first round out of the new box of ammo the bullet defraged before it got out of the barrel we examened the rifle for damage and found none then on the 9th round it did it again the target was only at 50 ft as i wanted to adust from that point out to 100 yards, has anyone experienced this from Hornady before? I was under the impresstion that this was the best ammunition on the market :o

Hornady does have a good reputation .... sounds like you got a bad box .... do you plan to handload or use factory ammo .... the best results we've had in our Henry 45-70 with factory ammo has been with HSM's Dangerous Game 430 Grain WFN GC ===> https://www.cabelas.com/product/HSM-Bea ... s?slotId=2 .... they group well, hit hard, and penetrate deep .... even on the biggest bodied elk they should perform extremely well
