Ok Gents ( are we still allowed to say that?)
I have a pile of Nosler 240 grain JSP bullets. I've used them out of my Ruger revolver and they are very accurate. I will use the same load for new 16.5" barreled Henry 44 mag when it comes in. My question is, has anyone used this particular bullet for hunting? I'll run up against white tail deer, black bear, and may eventually have to medicate a few hogs. I've had good success with hollow points, but have so many of these soft points I'd like to use them if possible.
Spring has sprung. Get out and shoot your Henry

Re: Big pile of bullets
since the mid 60's our 44 Mag hunting load has been Nosler 240 gr JHP or JSP bullets pushed by 23.8 gr of W296 or H110 .... during that time they have performed extremely well in multiple rifles and revolvers .... not a single deer, boar or black bear has ever fought one off .. .. for the most part we have used the JHP's but when hunting for larger boars or black bears JSP's do seem to have a bit better penetration .... they are the only 44 hunting bullets we use
