My New A Salt Rifle

Post by JEBar » Tue Jul 24, 2018 8:21 pm

today I received a very unusual gift .... as one who has never owned an asalt rifle, I was delighted .... OK, let's be clear, mine is a Bug-A-Salt rifle ===> https://www.bugasalt.com/ .. .. talk about a blast, I've had a ball with it this afternoon .... a couple of observations : the slide action isn't as smooth as that of our Henry rifles and I doubt it ever will be ... also, the trigger pull is a bit stiff .. ;) .. without any practical experience to draw on, I decided it would be good pattern it .... the 2nd/3rd/4th pictures show the pattern at 1 ft, 2 ft, and 3 ft... the 3 ft pattern is a bit hard to see, I may need to refire it .. :? .. the next couple are before and after pictures show a couple of targets (AKA ants) on a picnic table seat about 3 ft away .. 8-) .. I do note that they offer a laser sight option which I'm strongly considering .... I'm pretty sure I'll be spending a good deal of time with it in the coming days and look forward to more/better range reports .. 8-)

JEBar,
All I can say about viewing your new asalt rifle is that I have a big smile on my face as I looked over the details on the web site.
Never have seen the likes, and it's kinda kool! 8-)

And especially when camping, you'll never run out of "targets!"

Cool rifle. I only hope you enjoy eating your "seasoned" harvests.

It reminds me of the old potato launchers. How many grain bullets will it shoot?

We picked up one of these at a gunshow a couple of months back - couldn't resist - the videos on them were hilarious.

That looks like a blast of fun.

My preferred ant-salt weapon is a mag glass.

Loved it! Hey, if you run out of targets, come on up for a visit. We'll let you test that thing on mosquitoes. :)
