AND I WAS WORRIED

Post by Slugnut » Wed Jul 11, 2018 12:27 pm

I went to the range Sunday with my "new to me" H009 (30/30). What a pleasant surprise, with my reloads, from a bench/bags and HOT weather. I was able to get 7/16" groups (3 shots) with both 150g. Sierra FP and 170g. Nosler Partitions ( W748 ) at 50yds. With other loadings with different powder (Hodgdon Lev.) I got 1/2" gropes. My Henry seems to be more accurate than my Marlin 336 with MG (1x10 ROT rifling). My XLR ( Ballard rifling, 1x12 ROT ) gets one ragged hole with Federal 170g. blue box. I guess the Ballard Rifling is the reason? I want to thank ALL of you that helped me make that purchasing decision a few weeks ago.

Stock sights? Optics? Scope? Peep? Nice shooting no matter what, but curious what you were using?

I'll have to wait for my Son to come over to post some pics. He was there with me when I was shooting. Thank you for asking.
