Good day shooting 22LR Pistol. First 50p bullseye
Good day shooting 22LR Pistol. First 50p bullseye
Went to the range today we have clubshootingcompetition each week and today was a good day. We shoot at 25meters onehanded with 22lr pistols.The competition we have is 4series of 5shots during whole season and then in the end the 6 best times is counted to a total. And today I shot my first 50point bullseye, the first serie was a dissapointing 42points, second was 47points and the third was 50points and the forth and last was 46points. So a total of 185points of 200.
This is my 50point series shot with a Pardini SP22 22LR, ammo used was Eley Sport
The target is now hanging on the wall Have had a rough week so far and it was nice to accomplish something good for a change.

Nice shooting, I still haven't managed a 50 in precision, plenty of 47's 48's & 49's usually with 4 10's and one not so great shot.
Have shot a few 50's in the rapid fire stage.

Looked at some pics of your Pardini SP22 22LR on the internet....quite an interesting looking handgun.
Your shooting was top-notch! Great that you had a good day. I'd never heard of shooting a "50-point bullseye" before, and it sounds like a cool challenge.
I have a fairly new Ruger Mark IV in .22LR, and it is so accurate, it seems almost "hard to miss" when shooting it. I think this challenge would be much fun to try. I'd also like to improve shooting one-handed. That would be a large part of the challenge for me, I'd think.
~~~The 25 meters is easy to set up for target distance.
~~~I'd like to find out what inch size your splash target is?
~~~I've never shot your ammo type, Eley Sport, but use mostly CCIs. That would work for me at least to start out with.
Thanks.
Hi thanks, yeah had a really bad week didnt really expect to perform well, but Im so glad finally 50points really made my day. In precisionshooting you have plenty of time, 5minutes for 5shots its all in the focus on open sight, breathing and triggerpull, The rule for lowest triggerpull is 2lbs for 22lr.PT7 wrote:Looked at some pics of your Pardini SP22 22LR on the internet....quite an interesting looking handgun.
A goldserie is above 46points. Other calibers like 9mm, 38spl and others has a triggerpull of atleast 3lbs, and a goldserie is above 43points.
I have a friend in my club who has a Ruger like that and he performs very well with it.
its a 25meter-50meter target the 10ring is 5cm (1,96") the 7th ring is 20cm (7,87"), the nationaltarget look like this:
About ammo I mostly use Eley, SK match and Norma2 for pistol. Nothing wrong with cci they perform well but the wax on those tend to mess up my magazine especially when its cold. Eley has a more oily feel on the bullet.
Appreciate learning you use an 8" target, ruhler. I have those, and usually attach them to a larger cardboard backing --- just in case of fliers.
Wondering about that "oily feel" on the Eley? I have some Browning Perf. Rimfire (BPR) 40gr RN ammo, which shoots accurately from my Henry SGC...haven't tried these bullets yet in my Mark IV. They have a black oxide coating on the bullet, but doesn't feel oily. So not quite sure what the black oxide is there for, and don't know yet if they will chamber/run through the Mark IV okay. Guess I'll find out next time out. Just might try the BPR rounds as they are marked for target shooting.
That oily feel is just like rcbs caselube on brass. Its about the same lube on norma2, skmatch pistol and eley sport ammo.PT7 wrote:Appreciate learning you use an 8" target, ruhler. I have those, and usually attach them to a larger cardboard backing --- just in case of fliers.
