May 6th 1860

Post by RanchRoper » Sun May 06, 2018 3:02 pm

No wind today so took a few rounds to the range. My 1860 Henry 45 Colt.

24 rounds of Western Ammunition, they mfg new ammo in Calgary. New brass, etc. 250 gr LFN.

22 rounds on paper at 100 yds. Off hand kneeling with open ladder sights. Ladder on first notch. Nice enough ammo but not as slick as the Fiocchi yesterday.
2 days of shooting!

The snow drifts against your fences have definitely melted, RR. Beautiful photo of the distant mountains behind your 1860.
Nothing wrong at all with two days of shooting....good job again.

how far up the ladder would you have to run your rear sight to drop one in the snow on that ridge in the background .. :?:

just think about the targets when you load your own and get that load fine tuned .. ;)

Might need an extension ladder for that.

Love your pics as much as your shooting, RR, and that's saying a lot. You have a gift for both. Magnificent scenery. Perfect backdrop for that beautiful rifle.

Coming from Annie Oakley of the North Woods, that's a nice compliment.

Nice Job as usual RR and wow look at those fences tightly strung and repaired. Good thing you did that to so that rifle would have something nice to lean against.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......
