Ruger American

Post by Shakey Jake » Thu May 03, 2018 4:52 pm

I got my Ruger American All-Weather .223 in last week and had the first opportunity to take it out and try today. I mounted and bore sighted the Burris Fullfield II 3X9X40 at home. I got to the range and it was shooting low/right. Finally made adjustments so that I got a 2" center with the last remaining rounds out of a box of 50. I was using cheapo Perfecta .55 FMJ ammo. The main reason for me getting the rifle is I can find the ammo cheaper than I can reload.

Exactly the reason we shoot the 223 as our primary centerfire rifle cartridge. Even shoot the 223 in our Contender pistol. As with your Ruger, our 223s shoot well with the bulk stuff. Nice group, Shakey.
