Both are classics indeed and I'm amazed at how accurate they are in the right hands.

My 40yr old Remington 572 fieldmaster is still going strong and no worse for wear.
Sometimes I put a 4x scope in it but the irons work for me at 25yds shooting sillouettes.
Not my most accurate .22lr but always a great entertainer.

Hope to do some fun plinking with the Winchester when the weather moderates. That's the kind of shooting I want to do more in 2018. It's of my new Year's resolutions. I tend to get a bit obsessive about shooting groups and tenths of an inch in group size, these days, mainly because I'm the type of person that can't resist a challenge. That gets to be more work than fun, at times, and that defeats the whole idea of shooting. It's supposed to be fun, right? Well, what could be more fun than plinking with a pump gun or a lever gun? Brings out the Annie Oakley in me.
