Range Report

Post by ruhler » Thu Dec 21, 2017 9:38 am

Today I was at the 100meter (109yards) range to sight in my new scopes to a few shot to sight it in and then it was dead on. Shot a 5shot group within about 0,55" it was a black 17mm sticker in the middle really happy with that used a ordinary caldwell dead shot combo support. Had some Mirage from the barrel/silencer since its about 19degrees fahrenheit. But Im so glad to this performance with this ammunition, have had about the same precision with all my 6,5x55 rifles with this ammunition and a high power scope.

Rifle: Blaser R8 professional 6,5x55, with a Stalon whisper silencer
trigger pull factory weight about 0,8kilogram thats about 1.76lb really crisp trigger.
Scope: Swarovski Z5 3,5-18x44 with recicle 4 and ballistic turret.
Ammunition: Norma Golden target 130grain factory load.

Performed same precision without silencer but about a inch to the right and half an inch higher.

This ammunition is one of the cheapest in Sweden for this caliber its a competioncartridge that is used alot therefor cheap, but is also commonly used for hunting grouse and capercaillie during winter here in Sweden it has a small hollowpoint.

Really can recommend this cartridge its available in 308 and 30.06 aswell

Last weekend I was shooting some 44specials handloads 205grain semiwadcutter with 9grain of vithavouri N340 in my 44magnum revolver Ruger Super Blackhawk 10,5" offhand and got this serie on 25meters (27yards) the inner10 ring is 1inch, the 10 ring is 2inches, the 9ring is 4inches. This Was my best serie and the load seems to be fine

Excellent work, guys. Glad you got out for some range work.

Interesting rifle, that Blaser. We seldom see them, over here. Would love to see some pics and info.
