Range Report: 2300S

Post by Sir Henry » Tue Mar 30, 2021 5:57 pm

I took a break from cleaning out the garage to shoot for a half hour. I started out terrible and ended up better yet still not very good. It took me a dozen shots to get it zeroed mainly because I wasn’t shooting very well. Then I shot two ten round targets.

This is my second and last target after zeroed. Using the correct target for the discipline tells the real story.

One of the pellets came out of the can like this.

Good shooting after you got in the groove! I've had some Crosman pellets not formed right just slide thru the barrel.

Nice shooting Gene. All the crosman pellets ive shot are not even close to as accurate as the others I have.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

I would say fair shooting. The pistol is capable of a lot better than what I shot. I suspect NCG’s target will be a lot better than mine.

Gene, that target is actually pretty good if you take away a few flyers and some of those could be the Crosman wad cutter pellets. A little more trigger time with the 2300S will take care of those flyers.

As mentioned, those Crosman wadcutters are pretty poor. I've never had decent groups with them. All my groups opened up with them after using good pellets. None of my guns liked them. Spend the extra dollars and get the Meisterkugeln or the R10s. My 2300S loves the Meisters. If you want to save the money, go to the Crosman Premier Domed. Definitely a better pellet than the Crosman wad cutters. At that distance, even the hollow points would be fine.

Gene NCG and Ranchroper are in a class all of there own. None of us will ever be able to match what they can do even if our guns were mounted in concrete
