10 rounds in a spot the size of a 50 cent piece at 50 yards!! Ammo was Federal 225gr jacketed soft tip. Fantastic day! Found 200 rounds of ammo and got to shoot. Doesn’t get much better. I was shooting with the scope remounted to the standard rail and using my right eye. Very hard to do right now. I couldn’t get an accurate shot off quickly if I had to. Taking my time though, I did good.
3 rounds down the 45-70. Dinner plate grouping. I really need to figure out the scope situation for it. I simply love the recoil of that round. Very distinct. Really turns a lot of heads when it goes boom!
I’ll be cleaning them up and locking them away for a while. At least until I decide on a scope. In June, it’s off to Texas for a hog hunt if everything goes as planned. We’ll have to see how my wife is doing. Hopefully better than she is now.
Spring has sprung. Get out and shoot your Henry

first time I've ever heard someone say they "love the recoil" of a 45-70 .. .. as to the blast turning heads, that I do understand

a few decades ago I could say pretty much the same thing but those days are gone and won't ever return for me
