Love my Henry!

It's been said here many times but I said it again! Took the 45-70 out to the range for a final check before deer season. With a load of 38grs. of imr4198 and a 400 gr Speer soft point I got a nice 2 inch group at a lasered 106 yards. When I used smooth bore shotguns and slugs I'd been pleased with a group like that at 50 yards. The real test will come when deer season opens.

I can remember saying I'd never own a GLOCK,never own an AR15 and never get married. I found out that never is a long, long time!

that should certainly take care of it .... really looking forward to your post hunt reports .... I'm very curious about the performance of lower speed, heavy bullets for deer hunting .... historically my deer hunting has been using high speed 150 +/- gr 30 caliber bullets .... the closest I've come is using round balls out of a 50 caliber black powder rife ....

A two inch group at 106 yards will put venison on the table every time.
