Welcome from MS.

If I may, I suggest trying out a couple of the Underwood offerings, unless you load your own. I've been buying from them for several years, and in my experience they are quite bit more consistent (mv, accuracy, etc.) than the major manufacturers. You will get a longer range in the Henry than what is stated due to the longer barrel - likely around 1600-1700fps mv for a 300gr. Check it with a crony if you have access to one. :)

Congrats on that .44 Mag rifle and welcome from Va. !
I have the steel .44 Carbine and it's a real handy package with plenty of power.
Underwood is great ammo too especially the 180 gr. 44 Mag load for small stuff!

I think you'll really like your 44 mag. My Henry BBB 44mag is fun to shoot and hunt with. It works well on the feral hogs in ENC.

I ordered my first Henry rifle today. I live in North Texas on the Oklahoma border. Lots of game but I bought a .44 Magnum All-Weather primarily for hog hunting. I have access to several thousand acres of land, where hogs are definitely a problem. I can’t wait to get to the range then the field to try out my newest rifle.
We are excited for ya! Make sure and post some pictures when you get it out to the range.

Welcome to the forum, from TN. Hope you buying process goes better than mine has. Enjoy the hog hunting, sounds like a lot of fun from what I've read.

I rarely ever buy a rifle, but when I do, it's a Henry.
