Ordered My First Henry

Post by Kendalew » Fri Feb 28, 2020 8:09 am

I ordered my first Henry rifle today. I live in North Texas on the Oklahoma border. Lots of game but I bought a .44 Magnum All-Weather primarily for hog hunting. I have access to several thousand acres of land, where hogs are definitely a problem. I can’t wait to get to the range then the field to try out my newest rifle.

welcome indeed .... delighted to have you join us .... we are from NC and spend our winters in Texas .... hogs are most certainly plentiful in the areas we have visited .... our Henry 44 Mag is one heck of a rifle, I have no doubt yours will not only be an effective hog rifle but will be fun to fire as well .... looking forward to your future range and use reports as you become better acquainted with it .... be sure to follow the link below to our How Many? thread where you can add your Henry to our community's total

Remember, it's not how many guns you have. It's how many bullets you have.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Welcome from MS.

If I may, I suggest trying out a couple of the Underwood offerings, unless you load your own. I've been buying from them for several years, and in my experience they are quite bit more consistent (mv, accuracy, etc.) than the major manufacturers. You will get a longer range in the Henry than what is stated due to the longer barrel - likely around 1600-1700fps mv for a 300gr. Check it with a crony if you have access to one. :)
