I'm retired Air Force, served USN prior to USAF. After USAF I taught college, history and geography. Left the for part time employment as an academic advisor at the air force base education office. I have had the Henry 22lr for most of my life. Also 45 Colt steel, 44mag brass big boy, most recently 38-55 side gate. All are used for hunting. I was at the range recently with the side gate, another shooter, asked "you're really going to take a gun that looks that good in the field?" My reply "I wouldn't but a weapon like this that I don't intend to hunt with".

Hello And Welcome from Tenn.

First Thank You for your service!!
Nice collection of Henrys, and I totally agree about hunting with those.
All of my firearms see the woods at one time or another.
The only ones that don't get hunted are the 22's but,
that's because I don't care much for squirrel other than in stews with a variety of other meats.
No rabbits to speak of around here any more.
Maybe for the annual mistletoe harvest.

Feel free to jump in anywhere and also there is a thread on here about How Many.
Please add yours if you don't mind.
Hope you enjoy your stay.

From an old Tenn retired Army grunt, welcome to the forum. Great place to be. Only been here a short while myself, but already feels like family.

I rarely ever buy a rifle, but when I do, it's a Henry.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......
