Re: New member from Tenn
well understood and, in my book, a perfectly legitimate reason to buy one .... our Henry CCH 45-70 has a split personality, its proven to be one heck of a rifle .... loading your own ammo will provide you with the ability to make the most out of both of them .... load it with Cowboy Action level bullets and it can be a fun, pleasant rifle to shoot .... load it with Dangerous Game level ammo and it can turn into a hard hitting monster on both ends .. .. you'll find a wide range of bullet choices in both weight and construction .... we've decided on loading ours with Nosler 45-70 Caliber 300 Grain CT Ballistic Silver Tip with Cannelure (BLEM) ===> http://www.shootersproshop.com/nosler-p ... -50ct.html .... the CT in their name stands for Combined Technologies .... their development was a joint venture between Nosler and Winchester .... I've found that they can be light loaded and perform well for punching paper or ringing metal .... pep them up a little and they can easily handle any big game animal I'm subject to see .... if the need should ever arrive, I'd move up to Barnes Buster Bullets 45-70 Government (458 Diameter) 400 Gr Flat Nose Flat Base bullets ====> https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1010409631 .... properly loaded they are more than strong enough to take any critter on the North American Continent

Thanks, neighbor. I used to deer hunt in Natchez Trace State park, back in the 70's & 80"s. Transported inmates to & from West TN State prison, & Whiteville prison, when I was with the Trousdale Co. Sheriffs Dept. I live in Trous. co. near Hartsville.
Just an old country boy, LOL

I rarely ever buy a rifle, but when I do, it's a Henry.
