New from north eastern NY
Hi All. yes I'm new here.
I just picked up a new Henry H001t Frontier, 20'' bbl 22 rifle. I have been out to the range with it once, but i have a feeling this one will see a lot of range time, it's really fun.
The one thing I may change is the rear full buckhorn sight, it's not ideal for my 57 year old eyes. I have a couple Marlins 1894s, .357 and 44 mag rifles and the sights on those are as good as it's gets for me. I understand the Frontier has Marbles sights ? The front is prefect, a little flatter rear would dial me in I think. I like the way the Marbles sight sits on the Octagon barrel.
Wonder if any of you guys and gals have made changes to the rear sight?
Thanks !

Just sent you a "welcome note" in the My customized H001 thread, where you made your first post.
So greetings again.
You should hear from others about rear sight changes on Henrys. Many of us have let the buckhorns go for similar reason you have. My .22LR SGC came with a receiver-mounted Skinner peep already in place. Works pretty darn well for me. I don't recall others here using the Marbles sight, but someone might have change to that sight. Hope you get some good help....lots of good info and Folk here.

Welcome aboard the board from KC! Glad you're here and congrats on your new Henry! Henry .22s come in lots of different variations and they're all great in their own way, so enjoy!
As noted already, however, the buckhorns don't survive for long on most Henrys, regardless of caliber. CT's suggestion to cruise around the Sights Sub-Forum is an excellent one, as there's lots of good Q&A there, pictures and stories.
