New member from Georgia

Just joined shortly after purchasing a Henry 30-30 to replace a miserable Marlin. I am looking forward to learning a few things on the forum. This gun will be used to hunt and with my eyes not being what they used to be, I will be mounting a scope on it. Any suggestions are welcome.
Also enjoy Bulldogs football and cooking on my egg.

Welcome, Dawg, it's good to have you here! Lots of great people here.
Recently acquired my Henry 30-30 and put a Leupold VX Freedom 2-7X32 on it and it's great for deer in the woods. Easy reach to 100 yds.
Please keep us posted on how you do with a fine replacement for that Marlin!

Welcome from Colorado. Glad you joined us. Just curious did you get the brass version or the color case by chance.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Welcome from the TV Oregon! Which model of .30-30 did you get? I got brass with octagon barrel.

_WELCOME!_.jpg
...and Greetings from the Show-Me-State, Smokeydawg.

Great choice of a .30-30 for deer hunting....lots of history and harvest for that caliber.

And is that a Big Green Egg you cook on? Very cool ceramic grill. It should do your venison just fine, too!
