I was just about to ask that very question. Good choice with the Big Boy! I just recently bought my second Henry (in .357) and will be doing my best to get a deer with it as well!Mistered wrote:What part of California you in?

Welcome! I'm also in Ca., so, I got your back. No one here has given me any grief about Ca, so, I think we're good. I recently bought the BB Classic[brass] in .357/.38spl. In the short time I've had it, I ve shot the day lights out of that rifle. Pure pleasure to shoot. Handloading for it now, even better. Welcome aboard officer.

Not sure why anyone would give you grief about being from California. There are plenty of great things about the state. I was married there, and spend a couple of weeks there twice a year. The 35,000,000 people is a bit of a turn off, but luckily they feel the need to be really close to one another!Rifletom wrote:Welcome! I'm also in Ca., so, I got your back. Redthies, just the political climate here. Pretty zany, so a lot of folks think we're all zany. Some , not all. And, it's as expensive as heck here. But, hey, we have nice weather, right? I'm retired, wife has a couple more years at her job. Then we look. Actually, I'm doing so now.

Ex-Californian here. Are you at least in one of the better parts of the state (i.e. not the SoCal metropolis or the Bay Area)?

Politics are never my barometer of an area. Politicians are typically morons at the best of times no matter where you are in the world. California is actually cheap compared with where I live. I have friends that own a house in a less than desirable part of Vancouver (ethnic gangs etc) and its a small 50s bungalow. He’s been offered $2.1 million for it. Another friend lives in a worse area, an hour from the city, but on a bigger lot (1/4 acre) and he recently sold for $1.7 million. It’s ludicrous.Rifletom wrote:Redthies, just the political climate here. Pretty zany, so a lot of folks think we're all zany. Some , not all. And, it's as expensive as heck here. Where are you thinking of moving to? Lots of my ex-pat California friends end up in Colorado or Oregon.
