howdy from oklahoma

Post by bmsma » Mon Jun 18, 2018 7:39 pm

Howdy all and thanks for all the responses i received from a post yesterday.

i figured should fill this in the help when i ask those questions that will make most folk go what the crap is he talking about :)

wife and i are a cpl old hippy rednecks in north central oklahoma. im a born and bred okie, raised a farm kid, the USAF, and then into computer networking and telecommunications.

Wife was a cali girl that transplanted to oklahoma in the mid 90's, we have 5 sons between us the youngest being 30. none of the kids are close in distance, and my wifes grand daughter is on the west coast.

so its pretty much just us bumbling thru life attempting to have as many laughs and good times as the good lord allows with our time left.

being a farm i hunted and shot some growing up but life, work and etc i havent done much at all up till a year or so ago. and the wife bless her soul had never handled a firearm until a year ago period. She showed some interest so we decided we needed a new hobby that didnt involved a casino "we have that habit as well.

we were having a conversation one night about how concerning things are getting in this county and she wanted to be able to defend herself. i should say we are not in a high crime area we live in a nice quiet town of 5000. Away being the good husband i try to be we talked and the first time she shot was a mossberg short barrel o/u 12 ga.

we are within 3-5 years of me being able to retire and are planning on heading to eastern ok, west ark, south missouri, 3-5 acres off the beaten path and just enjoy alot of sunsets on the porch

anyway sorry for being long winded but its the norm :)

thank you again all

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

My middle daughter lives in southern OK, and loves it. Small horse farm. They can see the glow of Casino lights in the night sky from their property, but their area is very sparsely populated. They like it that way.

Oh.. sorry... where are my manners? Welcome to the forum family. Jump right in and start posting, and put up pics. We like pictures.

BTW... both the daughter and son in law were air force, he left a teaching position on active duty at wichita falls, and a couple months later was back at his old desk, in his old job, civil service. He drives about twenty five minutes to work. :D

You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.
