Re: Another FNG from up in Canada eh
Welcome from the Shenandoah Valley. I bet you will find that your Henry 44Mag will feel and operate a lot like your Marlin 1895SBL - they both have almost identical actions. I'll also bet that your Henry will have a better fit and finish. Congrats on a couple of great rifles.

Well the post lady dropped of my new to me Henry. According to the previous owner, he only shot a box of 44 specials out of it and it shows. The fit and finish are excellent. The action is smoother than my MarlinPT7 wrote:~Welcome~.jpg
Gunner,
Let us know what action you take in deciding about the two guns' actions.
Have fun at the range with the new Big Boy. And everyone would like to see photos of your rifles; maybe a family portrait.
Oh ya! thank you very much to all for the warm welcome
Cheers

Hurrah for another smooth-action Henry out in the field!
BTW, in your intro posts, I forget to say "thanks for your military service."

Welcome to the forum. I hope that you find your Big Boy in .44 as much fun as I do! I have been shooting only my own hand loads thru it which are fairly lightly loaded but very accurate. If you are looking for lighter loads with 200 to 240 gr bullets and velocities from under 800 fps to a bit over 1200, I can let you know what has worked for me.
