New Henry owner, 45-70 H010
Hello from Jacksonville, Fl
I’ve owned plenty of Winchester’s and a Marlin. I’d been eyeing this Henry for a year or so and finally bought it at our most recent gun show. I absolutely love the craftsmanship and balance of this weapon. I did have a hiccup during the first range trip. I’d dumped the rounds out of the tube, one remained in. I lowered the lever without the tube installed and the lever stuck in the down position. I later discovered that this can also happen if you are gentle while cycling the action. Such a jam is easily cleared by removing the lever. Lesson learned, don’t Baby the action or cycle without magazine tube installed. She’s had a thorough cleaning and will re-visit the range tomorrow.

Welcome from the Show-Me-State, Sailorjerry. (Does your moniker maybe mean former or current NAVY?)
Congrats on your new Henry, and also on the two very nice photos you posted. Sharp-looking rifle!
Good job on your #1 Forum post.

Thanks PT7,
It does; I'm a Retired USN/R Naval Aircrewman Rescue Swimmer. Most folks don't realize that the Navy has more aircraft than the Air Force.
Cheers!

Cool I'm retired Air Force, but there was no problem in letting you fellows have most of the aircraft!
Again, welcome and thanks for your service to our country.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......
