Howdy

Post by DsGrouse » Sun Nov 28, 2021 7:38 pm

From central va, I'm looking for a partner rifle to go with my FA 97 in 454c/45lc.

Henry has a couple options I am very interested in.

The side loading all weather in 45lc that I could have threaded for use with my form 1 can. And less possibly the big boy x in 45lc.

No henry's as of yet. I am still waiting for them to come back in stock. Every place around me is out of stock.

My LGS has a standing order for an All Weather for me, but that has been going on for a good while. The problems of being a very small LGS.

Howdy Ds, from just over here in central W TN, naw the problem isn't the small LGS.
Heck that's an everywhere problem at the moment.
Just the other day, may have been weekend before last, anyway.
A member was wondering about the price of the H001.
So the next day I call around several shops that I know generally carry quite a Henry stock.
Only a couple shops had one, and none had a CF Henry of any sort.

Good luck in your search, some have had luck contacting Anthony personally gotten stuff done.

Thanks for the warm welcome all.

As for the local FFL, he is a very small shop. With nearly all the guns being allocated now, he is like 973rd in line. One will show up soon enough.

It was a hard choice between a henry all-weather and BHA 90a, with its reported 14 month wait. The BHA 90a might be a better overall hand fitted match, but I would not likely take it in the woods like I could the henry.

When in the blind here on the property, it can go in and out of the dew point in the morning and afternoon. I'm leary of dragging out blued guns in that kind of environment.

As I mentioned, I want to run it suppressed, as 90% of my shooting is suppressed on the property. I have a form 1 that has a sico 45 caliber trilug adapter to fit my bnt ghm45 sbr

There is a shop in TX, Grumpy's guns. I spoke with them on the phone and they think they can thread the barrel with little issue. Why Henry does not offer the all weather in a threaded option makes little sense to me.

Here is the tri lug mount I am thinking of using.

Welcome to the family from OK. We moved out this way after we sold OUR dream place in central VA in May of 2020.. :? You can guess why. We can discuss the place, and my thirty years there in emails or PMs. I graduated from JR Tucker in Henrico Co. Years Ago. Went into the Corps, stayed more than 13 years.. Then came home... after a medical discharge. Loved it, til the changes.

Jump right in and post, we love pictures. This is a family, so we'll pic on you, but all in fun. Not like some other sites. Ask questions, offer opinions. Welcome home.

Broken ol Marine,
Before i left FB, i had been friends with Winsome for over five years. She is an amazing woman, and will do a lot of good for the state.

I've lived MT, AK,MT,OR,WA, CT, and now VA. we have been here the last 7 years. I see the state going the same way as OR,WA. I hope we can arrest that movement.

Trying to walk the fine political line.

I'm not much of a traditionalist as to firearms in general. I am a hodgepodge guy. If it shoots, I have probably owned one of it at various times.
My interests are not limited to:
Crossbows, PCP air rifles, 22lr bolt and semi-auto, 22lr pistols and 22lr conversions, sigs, hk, beretta, cz, IWI/IMI, POF, BNT, PTR, Colt, DW, Smith, walther and toss in some black powder in there at any time.
