Hello from central NY

Post by SD MEPPS » Thu Jan 17, 2019 9:07 pm

Hello everyone. New to the forum and proud owner of a Henry 30-30, H009. Just picked it up three days ago. Shot 18 rounds out of it the following day. I’ve really liked lever guns since hunting with a friend when we were teenagers back in the 80’s in the southern Adirondacks. He carried a Winchester 94. Fast forward to about ten years ago when I bought my son a Marlin 336. I’ve been researching the Henry 30-30 for a while now and finally got one. Looking forward to shooting it a lot this year and getting to know as much as I can about this great company.

Welcome from the beautiful Show-Me-State, SD.
The .30-30 is a rock-solid whitetail deer rifle....I've no doubt you'll enjoy it, and it'll earn you a nice harvest next fall.

Thanks everyone. One tid bit I left out. I forgot that this actually isn’t my first Henry purchased. Probably around the year 2000 I bought a little single shot 22 I believe called a Cricket. My son was 5 and my oldest daughter was 7. It’s a great first gun to teach kids on. Just last week I realized it said Henry Repeating Arms on it. So I guess I own two Henry’s!

Welcome from the TV Oregon, one .30-30 owner to another!

Henry makes a 'Mini-Bolt Youth', that looks a lot like the Keystone Sporting Arms 'Crickett'.
