way back in this thread it points out process .... spring onions, leaf lettuce, bacon .... the bacon grease needs to be hot (some say smoking hot) make sure the lettuce is as dry as possible .... be very careful pouring it on the lettuce .... it needs to sizzle when it contacts the lettuce ..... looking forward to your comments

what you like is up to you .... suggest you taste it the old-timey way and then adjust as you like .... as a second thought, I don't think that pouring smoking hot bacon grease over shredded cheese would work out well

No, the cheese would have to go on after the grease. I'll try without the first time.
