recommendations for a GOOD multi-purpose lighter similar to the one in the link below .... would be appreciated .... I've tried bunches of different brands and they all do fine for a little while but very seldom work long enough to burn all of their fuel .... I have a at least a half dozen different ones in the camper's basement right now that have plenty of fuel but won't light

Zero experience with anything like that, but it looks pretty fancy! I've got one of those grocery store "Bic-like" long lighters that I can't believe is still working, but it is!
Would this be for just lighting camp "stuff" and real live campfire here and there?

I'm sold on it, but, for a good laugh, you should read the Q&A Section of this product's listing.

Looks like the seller used the same listing at different points in time to sell different products.

a lighter
a temp sensor
a USB voltage tester
a calculator

I would not buy from this seller. There have been articles written about amazon sellers like these on the internet not being entirely legit.

About the lighter, I once had a similar product. Did not work for lighting candles or paper or anything else not a gas.

Seems like there would have to be some sort of flame to get it to light a candle, but I'm no expert!

Works like a bug zapper or tiny arc welder. Supposedly produces a series of high energy plasma arc sparks. This one might be able to light candles.

UPDATE :

a little over a month ago, we ordered one of each .... they both perform as advertised .... they hold a charge well .... their spark isn't very long but it is strong .... in using one to light our camping grill I've come to prefer the Ronxs .... its longer, flexible neck really comes in handy .... I still have a number of temperamental regular flame lighters that light sometimes and won't at others .... in experimenting with them I find that the electric arc lighters work to light them .... they are products we can recommend
