We are hosting Christmas Eve

Post by daytime dave » Sat Dec 23, 2017 10:26 am

This year, we are hosting Christmas Eve. Her sister usually does it, but isn't up to it this year. Since I heard about that, I've spent all of my free time cooking and baking to make our hosting memorable. Mary doesn't cook, so I'm game for it.

I am attaching the menu, let me know what you think. The family heritage is Italian and French Canadian. I think I have the bases well covered.

I might be tempted to move the adult beverages up to the appetizer course. :D

Dinner went well. The appetizer table was a big hit. 4 different main cheeses, 4 different goat cheeses, two types of dry sausage and proscuto, crab dip and chip dip,..........and then there was dinner. It ran along age lines. The younger crowd liked pizza. The meat pies were good. My first attempt at my own crust was a big success. (By the way, I made almost everything myself)

The adult beverages after clean up were a good end to a long day.

I hope your holiday was nice.
