Wireless Meat Thermometer

Post by JEBar » Sun Feb 11, 2024 12:50 pm

I've used the digital meat thermometer shown in the first two pictures for considerably more than 10 years .... it can handle 2 probes, 1 for the food being grilled/smoked and the 2nd to show the cooking temp inside the grill/smoker ..... the 2nd can be used for food but its probe i different and isn't easily inserted ..... both braided probe wires started fraying years ago .... the sharp points along the length of the wires can be irritating .... it still works but its older technology temperamental takes time to link the sending unit and receiver .... the case shown in picture 3 was purchased for the old ones back in Dec of 2017 .... picture 4 shows the new digital thermometer (link below) in the case ..... adapting it to fit was no problem .... the reasons for selecting the new one are pretty simple .... it carries a 4.5 out of 5 star rating on Amazon based on 647 ratings .... it has and is programed for 4 probes .... this allows me to monitor the cooking for 4 different items at the same time .... its signal distance is 490' which far exceeds the old one .... regular price $50, discounted to $40, with an additional special $10 discount coupon .... I'm looking forward to using it

that's a nice one .... if I asked her she'd let me use hers but don't think Maureen would like me to monopolize her phone for hours at a time when smoking various foods .... the range between the sending unit and the receiver is sad to be 490', that's more than enough for my use

It works when the Bluetooth signal isn't blocked. A full metal enclosed bbq grill or smoker still requires a cable probed type thermometer.
In our kitchen oven, no problem. Bluetooth gets through the glass window in the door.

Most of the time I use this one. Simple.
