Hornady conicals

Post by PJM » Mon Dec 16, 2019 3:41 pm

These were developed for roundball twist barrels( 1 in 66"). Absolutely awesome in my 32" barrel TC Hawken from the original custom shop in Rochester, NH. These are more suitable for hunting than roundball as they are 240 grs vs. 175 grs for roundball. Try them as they are ACCURATE.

Glad the Hornady conicals work for you and YOU have a .50 Cal to use them in!

I am REALLY bummed Hornady dropped their .54 and .58 cal Great Plains bullets. These were fantastic in both my TC Renegade .54 and .58 Springfield Zouave.

I am sorry to hear that. I have used the Great Plains for years in my .54 TC White Mountain Carbine. I have 2 boxes left! I won't be using these on paper. Save for whitetails. Lyman may have a mold for these or some of the custom manufactures like Buffalo may make something similar. Good luck.
