Guess what, Dan? I don't yet know if "BP is my kind of thing."
Well, if it is you might become interested in a repro 'period' revolver of some style.

I'm sitting here grinning at your posts, Gentlemen! 😊
At this moment, I haven't even shot a BP pistol yet, and you two are encouraging me to start filling up my gun cabinet.

What a hoot before I shoot

PT7...my advice? Don't worry about accuracy and just enjoy making smoke and re-living some history!

Totally agree, RR. Some smoking history sounds great!

I'm going to try the bench approach and see how my DIY rest works....just for the experience of it. And with adjustable rear and front sights on this pistol, it'll be good to check that I'm on paper or able to clang steel. But group size or writing my initials on a target with bullet holes...not.

Like I had mentioned already, it will take but the blink of an eye to get away from the bench rest and shoot standing, off hand. Then the real fun begins!

Always appreciate hearing from you what it is all about. 👍

Guess what, Dan? I don't yet know if "BP is my kind of thing." I've been interested in it for a while now, but only have been reading, which is not even much of a vicarious experience.

But so far, having the pistol in hand, learning about it, and even taking it apart and re-assembling have all been a lot of fun. The hands-on range time will be telling for sure. Another reason I'm looking forward to this part of the shooting sports is because I no longer will be shooting long guns. This pistol, from another time in history, is basically what I consider a "replacement" retirement hobby. And I'm going into it 100% looking 👀 to enjoy it!

Appreciate the compliment on my pistol's good looks. ;)

Great looking pistol. Pretty sure BP isn't my kind of thing but that certainly sounds like a lot of fun indeed.
All sounds good if you ask me. Frankly I have a good bit of fun doing the research myself as well. Learning about the history or intricate details. Either way it does look like a very nice gun and good luck on that BP thing. It's not that it would take so long but I'm afraid I would end up getting black powder all over the place. LOL
