I got lucky and was able to save the barrel with some water based lapping compound.
It still has some pitting but shoots incredibly well.

Here are a couple of Johns guns. Top one is one of my favorites. 40 cal Hawken Squirrel rifle and the bottom is a 54 caliber Hawken.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

As Ed mentioned back in the day TC made quality Blackpowder guns and stood behind them with there warranty ….were built by people who had pride in what they do something you do not find much of anymore. I just bought a new 5th wheel and I dont care what you pay for an RV of any kind they throw those things together. Some of the things that are done I am shaking my head at wondering if the guy fell off RR horse on the way to work that morning.

Here you go PT the TC Patriot.
Sharp-looking pistol, Al. Like the scrollwork on the lock, and the bottom grip plate. On the Trapper, there is no scrollwork at bottom of grip although the brass looks good. Prefer your design.

Understood about quality workmanship, and "back in the day." In the first Trapper pistol I just returned, it evidently showed some missing quality and care in the building of it. If the second one they send has any issues with it, I'm thinking it might just need to be returned and refunded. BGS probably will agree to that. Wonder what I'll see with another NOOB?

Again, thanks for posting your photo. You and Ed sure do have some cool 8-) BP firearms between you.
