WWII Enfield stock repair

These were made in 1941 and 1942 in Lithgow Australia.

They are battle rifles and have had many stock repairs. This stock is beginning to split.

The buttstock is one spot that is usually repaired. It doesn’t have to look pretty but it must function and hold the buttplate on which contained the oiler and cleaning kit.

It was common for the stocks to split in front of the magazine well. In India they did a FTR and put in screws.

The screw would go all the way through to be filed flat.
