Target pistol

Post by tx gunrunner » Thu Apr 07, 2016 6:16 am

I built this in 1 night from scratch . I started with a scrape 357 rifled barrel and I design action with only 3 moving parts using a coil spring . The sight are off a Thompson Contender and the grip mirrors a 1911 . I built 2 more in smooth bore gun like this one that shot this good too . I sold both at a match I won with them and they were not for sale . I will never sell this one since it was my 1st . This is the 1st target I shot with this gun so it is not a cherry pick target .

That is remarkable you could build such a firearm. I'm limited to changing sights or throwing on a scope.

Question: Do you shoot this one or two handed?

Very cool...a .357 cal blasting out of a 9" handgun barrel! Gotta be smokin'.

I wonder if I've missed something in your posts so far, tx gunrunner. Are you a gunsmith by trade? Or is your work just what you like to do, and maybe it's your hobby? Whichever it is, you're posting pics of some nice firearms :!:

I built all my match guns for years and I retired in 1993 at the age of 50 from the auto repair business and did lots of gun repairs for friends and fellow shooters and built many custom guns for friends . No I didn't try to make a living doing gunsmithing . I retired and all I want to do was to chase girls and play with my guns , motorcycle , hot rod , hunt and fish . I did that to my health slowed me down 4 yrs ago at age 69 . I ride a MC everyday and play with my cars below

These are just his current toys. I've seen dozens of his car pictures from the last four decades. That Mustang is fast!
