oh bummer, sorry for your temporary loss! wish for you to get a quick turnaround.
markiver54 wrote:Went to the indoor 25 yd range today. Not pleased at all with results...sorry, no targets are worth posting. Range officer even noticed the offset on the front dovetail. As I mentioned in previous post, thought I would put several rounds through to see if I could adjust the Skinner enough to get windage right. Managed to get on center, however the Skinner adjustment was maxed out in one direction leaving no room for future adjustment.
Left the range and went to my local gun smith. He spent about 1/2 hour trying to drift the front and even he said it would not budge, and yes it was not right. Dovetail is canted and off center.
Came home and had a conversation with Tom Kotz at Henry, Racine Wiscinsin.
Bottom line is that the rifle is going back and they will probably just replace the entire barrel. Great CS, once again! Only problem now is waiting... :(

Just took it to UPS today. For anyone interested, I will let you know how long it takes till it arrives back in my hands and what took place regarding repair or replace.

Reminds me of the old saying: "Instant gratification is not fast enough!"

One of the downsides of the great technology available to us these days is the ability to know where a given UPS package is at almost any time. I had something disappear into a black hole in the USPS tracking system recently and it made me crazy for a couple of days. Then, all the sudden, it popped back up!

Henry might have given you a "Case Number" or some such thing, so you can track it after it gets to them, but, if so, don't count on much detail until it ships back out to you. In other words, there's no "blow by blow" of your rifle moving from Receiving to the Repair Dept, etc.

You're now in their black hole...
