Levers

Post by markiver54 » Sat Mar 09, 2019 11:03 pm

This seemed to be the only appropriate category for my question. I only own the BBS 357 & my new SGC. Question is, how many have gone to large loop lever? IMHO... I think the small loop is way un-comfortable. That's part of why I have mine set up the way they are...large loop. How many agree? I don't think the large loop has any negatives...only an improvement.

My bbs 357 with large loop. I have a standard loop, but have no interest in it. The feel, fit and function of the large loop make it my choice. That, and the great look.

I quite like the lever on my 1860. It fits real good. Tried a wrap but did not like the feel. I handled a carbine with a large loop but found it awkward. Just me I guess.

.
In many of the before and after pictures in other posts, the larger lever looks better on the Henry. I don't have a large loop lever on mine. The back of the knuckle discomfort is only in my memory later when I think about it, not while I'm shooting.

RR, yup, you go with what works. I like that little finger extension on your lever. Do you use only 2 fingers in the loop?

I don't like the aesthetic of large loop levers.

Neither do I.
The 'medium' large loop is not bad but those huge round ones are hideous.

Similar to the OP, I have an AW BB .357 and an SGC. I haven't given the levers a lot of thought or attention, mainly because both the small and large loop levers are fine. I like them as they came NOTB.

SGC has the large loop lever.

Added a cloth lever wrap. The large loop was a shade too large, and the wrap has made it easier to operate.

MAW has the small loop lever.

Now that this thread has had me focus on these two different levers, I better like the feel of the small loop lever on the Big Boy. No plans to change either one. Nice to like twice!
