I can relate! I just fired and cleaned my first SS revolver and did soooooo much cleaning research because I couldn't get that black off of the cylinder face and didn't want to ruin the gap by doing it wrong. I gotta get that cloth. I used Ballistol (for the first time and wow what a mess) and elbow grease with a brush worked with a tiny touch of mothers to get rid of a few stuborn spots. I couldn't put it away dirty lol
Spring has sprung. Get out and shoot your Henry

I've been using the cloth for years. Works great! like magic. Only way to go on SS. Don't get near blued surfaces though.

On the blued ones, I use a 50-50 mix of Hoppe's and Kroil. Apply, let sit for about 10 minute and wipe. Presto! Clean!

I don't scrub the burn rings off.........If I did I'd spent more time scrubbing than shooting.....Besides they gonna come back the next time you pull the trigger.

Just kidding. I think I'll keep mine clean though.

Yes, cleaning a firearm can be a lot of work. But, I like for things to be in the best condition possible. It seems to help things work better longer.

Color me crazy but I LOVE cleaning my guns. Little background music, shut out the world for a while. Same with reloading -

So do you cut sections off or just use the whole thing? I got it and it turned black picking up whatever leftovers were on my "cleaned" ss revolver lol - amazing!markiver54 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 29, 2022 8:56 pmI've been using the cloth for years. Re: cleaning cylinder face
I just keep it in one piece. I wipe off all that will come off very easily with another cloth and a basic solvent. Then I use it for the tough stuff.Kissmybrass wrote: ↑Fri Sep 02, 2022 9:18 pmSo do you cut sections off or just use the whole thing?
