Henry Mares Leg SBR

Post by JCN » Mon Jul 25, 2016 12:02 am

Has anyone else watched the Mares Leg SBR video posted by IV8888 on youtube? They basically took a .44 mag Mares Leg, got the SBR tax stamp, and added a full length stock. The end result is basically a .44 mag rifle shorter than the carbine.

Interesting, I didn't realize the rifle length laws were different in Canada. And more lenient at that....

It sure would make for a handy little woods gun.

Cool -- a Henry Mares Leg in a "snubby" configuration!
And that .44 Magnum sure does clang that steel.

Hey, RetiredSeabee. How many days of the week would it take to reload for this rifle?!?

Straight wall pistol is easy to load. I can use up a lot with a Ruger Black Hawk and a Winchester 94 in .45LC

interesting video .... as a Steve McQueen fan, the Mare's Leg concept does carry a high degree of fascination .... while I have no evidence to base it on, I find it hard to believe that someone at some point in the old west didn't cut down a lever action as they cut down shotguns .... doing so would make it much easier to conceal .... I've seen videos of 44 Mag revolvers fired ranges shown in the link so I have no doubt a Mare's Leg could do so as well ....

That's a cool gun, but it's an expensive little rifle for about 3 1/2 inches over a 44 carbine....

I wish I could do that. Must admit I've thought about it.
