Light option for night predators

Im very interested in considering a mounted light, and or red dot for use on night time predators. Its only a matter of time before I wake up to coyotes in with my livestock, and Id like to have a quick mount spot light to help distinguish between what needs to die and what needs to live easier.

I have very little experience with these. Any advice?

On another thread, I believe you mentioned having already bought a new rifle, however, considering your needs, the new " X " models come with a picatiny rail on the muzzle end/bottom which would be perfect for mounting a light.
Still not sure what you purchased though.

....Had to come back and edit!
Saw on your Howdy thread that you purchased a 357. I have one too and love it.
Maybe someone here can help with the lighting issue...sorry Bud!

Henry has a couple of mount options on their on-line store site, but unfortunately they are closed until this virus thing goes away.

Maybe your local shop has Henry mounts in stock. Light wise you could just redneck a light alongside the barrel/mag tube area with a couple of plastic zipties.

If Ya Just want to go cheap and easy, I carry this small flashlight quite a bit at night.
Got it at Lowes. Was about $20.00. Have been known to hold it beside my SD pistol, and also in my rifle support hand under the fore stock. It is very bright! I have two of these. ( LUX-PRO 600 ).

Thank you gentlemen.

Markiver, yes Ive been a little on the spastic side here so far. My apologies. Trying to get a handle on how exactly this forum works.

I spent some time looking around this morning, and found some options for barrel mounted mini picatinny rails. Amazon has a thousand options.

No problem HeeliOs.
I have considered mounting a light on my SD pistol. It has the pickatinny already on it.
