Scope ideas for an Evil Roy .22 WMR
Scope ideas for an Evil Roy .22 WMR
Hello folks,
Can anyone suggest some scope ideas for the Evil Roy in .22 WMR? Given it’s shorter barrel length and stock, I am concerned about eye relief/ check weld issues, as well as overall scope length. I was planning to get raised rings to be able to use the sights for close range, and was looking for a scope in the 2-7x or 3-9x range. Any ideas would be appreciated appreciated. Thank you!

Welcome to the forum glad you joined us. Burris and Leupold both make good 2x7 scopes that should do well on that rifle.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Welcome to the forum. Rather than recommending a brand I would suggest a 1.5 power scope which is low power enough that you don’t need iron sights and you get the best of both.
But I don’t know how you will be using it so a 2-7 power might fit your needs better if you are shooting beyond 50 yards and a fixed 4 power if shooting closer.

Welcome from rainy Ca! As mentioned, a compact 1.5 on up will fill the bill. Burris, Leupold, Nikon an possibly Weaver. They're out there. Enjoy your .22 Henry.

Re: Scope ideas for an Evil Roy .22 WMR
I quite like my older Leupold VX1 2-7x33, it is light, compact and doesn’t overwhelm the look of a lever action carbine. The problem is this is discontinued, but buying a used one would be fine since the warranty is transferrable and forever. Just make sure the scope is genuine, there are lots of fakes.
Downside is the magnification is too low for seeing bullet holes in targets beyond 50 yards. A 12x is the minimum needed if that is important to you. Here is mine mounted on a Big Boy X (17" barrel). Note the good eye relief - 4" +or-. Those are the most excellent Warne steel Quick Detach rings (Low) on a Ranger Point Precision rail. The pics are distorted, open it in a new tab to see them properly.
