Strange question????
Might be a strange ? ..I'm sitting inside my small home, back to the wall in dining room. Have a large mirror in the living room about 20 feet opposite. Snowing heavily outside right now, so just looking through the irons and optics in the house. Can I then assume that the POI is 40 feet away?

LOL.. looking from slight angle...can't see myself. Just wondering if anyone ever used this method in short quarters. Probably warranted your answer. As I said...maybe a dumb question.

Re: Strange question????
One physics review I read on viewing mirror images said "yes." Review had most interesting commentary both on distance and height of what you see.
I would have "guessed" the same answer, although physics (and especially chemistry) were not my top-notch subjects in school by a long shot! A scientist I am not.
BTW, no such thing as a "strange ?" when you want to learn something, Mark.

Re: Strange question????
No - you are aiming at the IMAGE in the mirror - which is only 20 ' away.Can I then assume that the POI is 40 feet away?
Therefore MY guess is POI is only 20'.

2. If Suzie stands 3 feet in front of a plane mirror, how far from the person will her image be located?
Answer = 6 feet
Suzie (the object) is located 3 feet from the mirror. Suzie's image will be located 3 feet behind the mirror. Thus, the distance between Suzie and the image will be 6 feet.

Dunno, but whatever you do, don't get tempted to pull the trigger.markiver54 wrote:Might be a strange ? ..I'm sitting inside my small home, back to the wall in dining room.
