I have a H012, Big Boy rifle in .327 Federal magnum.
I have a Leupold M8 6x36 scope.
I have a mystery set of of 1" picatinny rings
Which is a better option, purchasing the Henry scope base for Big Boy rifles (BB-RSMP, $27.50), or getting the Talley one piece ring set (TALLEY930336, $43.99)?
Thanks for your advice/opinion.

Scope base question
Re: Scope base question
not sure anybody can answer this with the provide info, but you chose a fine scope. I would think medium height would ba a good fit, but might clash with iron sight and need to go to high.
As far as the talley one piece, I think might be over kill. This rifle doesn't kick bad right, so may not need the extra weight of the talleys.........

Re: Scope base question
I would like to keep the scope as low as possible, and still fit on the rifle. This is a photo of rings on scope, in a rough position. I don't have a base yet.
Would the standard issue scope base be lower than the Talley rings set? I don't know what other info to provided. Sorry,

Re: Scope base question
I was looking at this for my BBB but it would need to be modified to fit the brass receiver. I believe it would fit yours. I liked the idea of being able to remove just the scope to be able to use the iron sights but for now I'm happy with my Skinner barrel mount peep sight.

Re: Scope base question
I would think the talley set comes in different heights, as do virtually all rings. Just looking at your pic, those look like low rings. It also looks like they are a "too close to call" at this point, not knowing the final position of the scope with regard to the rear sight as you can see the site is preventing the scope from going back further.
