HiViz sights on a Golden Boy Question.
HiViz sights on a Golden Boy Question.
I tapped the factory sights out and when installing the rear HiViz it just slides right in.. Is that normal? I have installed many sights on pistols and that is a first. Should I put some loctite on the groove to make sure it stays or is the set screw enough? Thanks for the help.

Re: HiViz sights on a Golden Boy Question.
FIrst welcome to the forum from Wickiup Junction, Oregon!or is the set screw enough?
The set screw should be sufficient as the sight dovetail was cut slightly undersized to allow it to move easily to adjust windage.
You say for your Golden Boy so I am assuming this is a .22 so recoil should not be a problem.
If for any reason it does not stay secure I recommend a thin copper or brass shim to snug it up a bit but still allow movement to adjust.

welcome indeed .... Missouri has some wonderful shooting parks .... have you been to Jay Henges shooting range .. .. for years we have scheduled two stops in St Louis so as to visit Jay Henges .... their rifle / pistol range has been closed for repairs for 3 years .... that's a shame ....

Re: HiViz sights on a Golden Boy Question.
over the years I've made some good friends who I enjoy shooting with in both KC and St Louis .... our group usually fires 100 rounds per visit at Jay Henges trap range .... our state has nothing to compare with Missouri's state shooting parks
